Christmas Day Service!

Christmas morning and early afternoon was spent helping missionaries Skype their families around the world on our computer.
Later in the day we were invited to homes of a few members.
In the evening we sang at the Salvation Army Girls & Boys Home Christmas Party.
Great way to spend Christmas!

December 23rd -Matang Branch Christmas Nativity

Elder Wilson and I volunteered to help the branch do a nativity for the branch gathering.  It was the first time any of these children or teenagers had participated in a nativity.
ALL wanted to dress up. So we had many angels!

There was also a skit prepared.
And singing of Christmas hymns.

Dec. 13-21 Christmas Caroling --for a week and a half!

Many of the church units here go caroling at Christmas time to the homes of members.  They go EVERY night for several weeks!  We went for about a week and a half.  It does get one in the Christmas Spirit!

There are typically about 12 to 16 carolers. At first our singing is all over the board with everyone singing to their own pitch and timing.  By the end of the week and a half, we were actually better singers!  It helped when we started using our phones to play the music accompaniment.  Ha, Ha!

Elder Wilson and I had the great pleasure of decorating the branch Christmas tree.  They had a tree, but no decorations.  So we purchased the decorations and surprised everyone!

Kuching School Projects Day

While looking at a project in a special needs section of a school, we were invited to come to the open house for the regular students.  They wanted us to see all the projects they had created.
Their artwork was very colorful and creative.
The children were all so happy to have us come and look at their projects.
All projects were made from the simplest of materials.

Elder Wilson and I really stand out as the only "orang putih" (white people) around.  All the the young people want to have their pictures taken with us.  We are such a novelty!

It was fun joining with the students to see their projects.
